Baldur’s Gate 3 Voice Actors

In the Forgotten Realms, the only limit is your imagination... and the roll of the dice.

The classic tabletop roleplaying game rolls new critical success.

A long-awaited next-generation RPG for both die-hard Dungeons & Dragons fans and newcomers to the genre, Baldur’s Gate 3 is faithful to its D&D roots with an epic branching plotline and an impressive cast of characters.

But what truly sets the latest Larian Studio hot drop apart from its predecessors is its fully voiced dialogue lines–a massive feat for a player’s choice game of this scale. A dedicated cast of voice actors bring the Origin characters to life, adding layers upon layers of depth to your adventure as you battle and loot your way across the Forgotten Realms.

Ready to roll for adventure? Here’s a list of all the Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actors that propel the game into a league of its own.

Astarion spent centuries under the cruel commands of his master, Cazador. As an enslaved vampire spawn, he would seduce unwitting victims to feed Cazador’s thirst for power. Now free, Astarion is known as the power-seeking rogue in the shadows – but his body still bears Cazador’s scars, a reminder of his harrowing past.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, Astarion’s enigmatic story unfolds through the talent of Neil Newbon, a seasoned voice actor in gaming, with titles like Final Fantasy 16, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Resident Evil Village under his belt.

Shadowheart (Jennifer English)

She is on a mission to deliver a relic of immense power to her coven in Baldur’s Gate before the artefact casts its magic upon her. Trust isn’t given freely by the secretive Shadowheart, but she is a key companion and potential romantic interest in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Jennifer English, the voice behind Shadowheart, brings a seasoned expertise and mysterious aura to the character. Before taking her place amongst the league of Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actors, she played Leya in Divinity: Original Sin 2 and fans might even recognise her as Latenna in Elden Ring.

In a land where powerful Wizards are a rare find, Gale stands out as one of the most formidable magic wielders. Although a literal ticking time bomb beats inside his chest, Gale’s personality is one of the liveliest you’ll encounter in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 may be Tim Downie’s first-time venture into video game voice acting, but he portrays Gale’s ambition and inner moral battles with incredible versatility and skill. Downie is a well-known English actor acclaimed for his roles in films and TV series like Outlander and Paddington.

Lae’zel (Devora Wilde)

This parasitic infestation affects Lae’zel as well, and she needs your help to escape its clutches.

Like all Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actors, Devora Wilde brings a wealth of experience in video game voice acting. Devora has lent her voice to notable titles like Battlefield 2042, Phoenix Point, Arknights, and Total War: Warhammer 3.

Wyll is another potential companion who survived the Nautiloid crash, but his story is more complicated than what meets the eye. After he struck a deal with the Devil to preserve his heroic legacy as a Warlock, ‘the heroic blade of Frontiers’ is desperately trying to escape the bargain before it devours its soul.

Wyll was originally voiced by Lanre Malaolu. However, with the game’s release, the reins were passed on to Theo Solomon. This role marks his first venture into video game voice acting, yet his prowess in fantasy narration is well-established, highlighted by his successful narration of Leviathan Warhammer 40k.

Yet Karlach’s positivity and vibrant character is evident in her voice, which is filled with courage and strength despite the tragic events of her past thanks to Samantha Béart’s voice acting.

Béart is renowned for voicing the player character in Demon Souls (2020) and Thomasina Bateman in The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow.

Although he’s one of the lesser-known voices amongst the Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actors, Dave Jones plays Halsin with commendable depth and intrigue. The British voice actor has previously featured in acclaimed video games such as The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, Diablo Immortal, and Astrologaster.

His immortal, stone-cold demeanour is brilliantly voiced by J.K. Simmons, an accomplished actor who needs no introduction; a few of the many roles he is known for are J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man movies and Nolan Greyson, a.k.a. Omni-man in Invincible.

Voiced by the renowned actor Jason Isaacs, acclaimed for his portrayal of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter universe, Gortash embodies authority and ambition. Like so many other Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actors, Jason Isaacs is a newcomer to video game voice acting, but his powerful voice adds a distinctive tone of charisma and depth to his character.

The Guardian (Ethan Reid)

Choosing an Origin character in Baldur’s Gate 3 will surely save you a couple of hours of character customisation before the game starts. However, you will still need to create a Guardian, a character who remains an enigma until the very end. They appear in your dreams after an early Act 1 rest at Druid Grove, but their intentions are as unclear as their motive; sincere or manipulative? That’s up to you to decide.

Ethan Reid, a BA Acting graduate from RoseBruford, already has a radiant career in radio voice acting, drama, commercials, narration, and audiobooks. Proficient in classical works and trained in Shakespeare and Greek classics, he possesses a powerful, assured, and often seductive voice. Fans already love his charming, calming, and soothing tone for the Guardian and anticipate his appearances in the game.
