Final Fantasy XVI Voice Actors

A warpath of ash and stone beckons. Unlock a fate written in fire.

Welcome to Valisthea, the new immersive world of Final Fantasy XVI, a land with a long and bloodied history of death and conquest. The Blight looms over the realm, an aether depletion poisoning the nation with war and treason, themes that echo previous titles in the series. Final Fantasy XVI invites players into a tapestry of deep lore and breakneck action revolving around Eikons, Dominants, and the Mothercrystals, the aether energy that drives civilization.

Final Fantasy XVI steers onto a new horizon, upholding the legacy of the legendary JRPG series that has captivated fans for over three decades. Veering away from its science fiction roots, the latest Square Enix installment is the franchise’s most prominent gameplay shift to date.

Cutscene-heavy in true Devil May Cry fashion with strong Game of Thrones medieval aesthetics, Final Fantasy XVI expands the combat options for new and experienced action game players with combination attacks, innovative features such as Active Lore, and a talented cast of Final Fantasy XVI voice actors who breathe life to this dark tale with their captivating performances.

  • Clive Rosfield
  • Wyvern

Clive Rosfield, or ‘Wyvern’ is the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria and the main character in Final Fantasy XVI. Clive is a skilled swordsman able to summon the Phoenix’s powers, a blessing that soon turns into a curse…

Scorned by his mother, Anabella, Clive has sworn to protect his younger brother, Joshua, a soft-hearted boy bound by his royal duty. As the kingdom is swept by the destructive course of the war, Clive seeks revenge for what happened to his brother, navigating the chaos across Valisthea. Soon, he discovers a secret angle to his power; a revelation that will change everything he thought he knew about Eikons.

The voice actor for Clive in Final Fantasy XVI is Ben Starr, a well-known actor for his roles in television historical dramas. His previous video game titles include Arknights, A Way Out, Quantum Break, and Company of Heroes 2. Starr’s experience in period pieces seamlessly translates to his performance in Clive’s passage to adulthood, bringing resolute maturity to the role paired with a determined, vengeful demeanour that comes to define Clive’s character.

Joshua Rosfield is a key character in Final Fantasy XVI, as the Dominant controlling the Eikon of the Phoenix. Despite his noble upbringing tainting his young life with constant pressure and conflict, Joshua treats all his subjects with kindness and respect, and he is especially fond of his older brother, who he deeply admires. At the beginning of the game, Joshua is ten years old when his family is attacked by imperial forces, causing his Eikon to erupt and changing his and Clive’s fates forever.

Joshua Rosfield is played by the child voice actor Logan Hannan, who made his debut in video game roles as Hugo in A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem. He also appears as different voices in Hogwarts Legacy, including Archie Bickle, Lucan Brattleby, and Francis Doyle.

She was raised in the Rosfield household as a ward of Rosaria, where she was treated as a member of the family and became close friends with Clive and Joshua. When the three children are separated during the Night of Flame, the unstoppable power of the Eikon Shiva awakens within Jill, who decides to forge her own path by becoming a protector of the Iron Kingdom.

Voice actress Charlotte McBurney plays the 13-year-old version of Jill Warrick. She is the voice of Amicia in the Plague Tale video game series alongside her Final Fantasy XVI co-star, Logan Hannan.

A recurring character name in the Final Fantasy franchise, Cid is known for his complex and often boisterous personality, impeccable engineering skills, and notorious penchant for tinkering.

In Final Fantasy XVI, Cidolfus Telamon is the lightning Dominant of the Eikon Ramuh. His goal is to free the Dominants from the war, staging a rebellion against the state and providing shelter for refugees at a secret hideaway.

Cidolfus’ voice actor, Ralph Ineson, has had a great year in video games. The English actor and narrator voices Lorath Nahr in the recently released Diablo IV, delivering a highly praised performance as one of the last surviving members of the Horadrim. His raspy and distinctively accented voice performance paints Cid as a wise, mysterious, and confident individual.

Alex Lanipekun is the voice actor behind Hugo Kupla in Final Fantasy XVI. He voiced Nil in the critically acclaimed Horizon Forbidden West and Zero Dawn and has played several roles in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Dion’s position is threatened after his father’s marriage to Anabella, who strives to instil in him her obsession with blood purity. Similar to Clive Rosfield, Dion Lesage is courageous and persistent in his cause. But while Clive is driven by revenge, Dion ‘The Wise’ Lesage is driven by his ideals.

Dion’s Final Fantasy XVI voice actor is Stewart Clarke, known for his performances in Valkyrie Elysium, his role as Ethan Reed in Horizon Forbidden West, and several other appearances in video games such as Troy: A Total War Saga and CrossfireX.

Thanks to his powerful Eikon of Odin, Barnabas was able to suppress the rebellions across Valisthea and bring the eastern continent under the Waloeder occupation, spreading death and terror in his path with only one Dominant strong enough to oppose him.

The voice of Barnabas for Final Fantasy XVI is David Menkin, a Norwegian voice actor most famous for his role as Luke Skywalker in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga or his previous role in the Final Fantasy franchise as Magnus in Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. He has also appeared in Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and Alien: Isolation.

Anabella Rosfield (Christina Cole)

  • Anabella Rosfield
  • Duchess of Rosaria

Notoriously cold-hearted and arrogantly elitist, the Duchess of Rosaria values her social and political status more than her two sons, Clive and Joshua. Following Clive’s rejection by the Phoenix Eikon, Anabella treats her firstborn as an outcast and a failure, openly favouring her youngest, Joshua. King Elwin and the entire realm frown upon Anabella’s behaviour towards the two children and even Joshua himself views her coldness towards Clive with distaste, but that doesn’t stop the Duchess from ordering his enslavement to the Empire, leading to his branding.

The English voice actress Christina Cole is known for her roles in The Call of Cthulhu, Vampyr, The Surge, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, and over fifty TV series roles, including Doctor Who, the Blacklist, and Suits. Christina Cole’s performance has given us a version of Anabella that reflects the character’s cunning personality, defiance, and arrogance.
