We continue to reaffirm our stance: Voquent will never use any of our talents’ recordings for the non-consensual creation of AI voices. While technological advancement is central to our platform, this doesn’t need to be at the expense of genuine human creativity.

Our Guarantee To You
Voquent updated our terms of service last year to reflect our dedication to our voice talents:
“2.1.4 we undertake that we shall not use any content of your User Portfolio or any Recording other than for the purposes of providing the Services or as agreed with the Actor as appropriate and in particular shall not make or permit any use of an Actor’s voice-over recordings in connection with the formation of any synthetic voice (aka AI voice, Text-To-Speech voice) production unless expressly agreed with the Actor in writing and recorded specifically for that purpose”.
Talented voice actors are the lifeblood of our industry. AI voices can be valuable tools for creators and even voice actors, but they should never replace voice actors. There is no substitute for the vibrant, colourful and nuanced human voice.
Hopefully, other platforms in the voice-over industry can follow our mantra and work to protect the human talents that have defined this industry since it began.
