Let’s meet our iconic eight main characters and their voice actors, shall we?

Hayden Panettiere as Samantha "Sam" Giddings

Nature-loving Sam is voiced by actress Hayden Panettiere, one of the more well-known Until Dawn voice actors, recognisable for her roles in ‘Scream 4’ and ‘Bring it On: All or Nothing’.

Despite losing two friends the prior year – Hannah and Beth – Sam is committed to move on from past events and heal her relationships with her friends. Throughout the game, Sam shows incredible decisiveness, bravery, and proves herself to be one of the strongest members of the group.

Until Dawn cast member Hayden talks about her own similarities to Sam, explaining “Sam and I have a few things in common, such as being huge lovers of animals – she’s a vegan.

“I think that she’s made fun of a little bit by the rest of them who think that her morals and beliefs in that area are a little ridiculous and they don’t agree with them, but she doesn’t care.

It doesn’t stop her from being herself. And that’s something I have in common with her.”

Nichole Sakura as Emily Davis

With her quick-tongue and quick-witted comebacks, Emily is voiced by actress Nichole Bloom. The Until Dawn voice actor is most known for her roles in ‘Project X’ and hit Netflix show ‘Superstore’.

Having recently broken up with Mike, Emily has rebounded to Matt and is clearly frustrated about it. Around the group, she displays a can-do-no-wrong attitude and enjoys being the centre of attention.

Nichole talks about her experience voicing Emily, saying “She really knows what she wants, and she manages to get that from whoever it is, whether it be Matt or Mike.

She’s really driven, and I can relate to that but also this character is just so fun! I get to play the bitch.”

By the end of the game, Emily displays great physical strength, agility, and fantastic problem-solving skills. However, she soon returns to her usual ways when she returns to the group.

Meaghan Martin as Jessica "Jess" Riley

Mischievous blonde Jess is voiced by actress Meaghan Martin, known best for her role in the ‘Camp Rock’ films and ‘Mean Girls 2’.

Flirty and playful, Jess managed to turn Mike’s head – Emily’s ex-boyfriend – and has no shame about it. If there’s one thing this blonde isn’t, it’s shy. She often talks about her dreams of being a model and is very open about her sexuality, flaunting her relationship with Mike. Depending on player choices, she may reveal that doing so is a way to hide her insecurities.

Meaghan explains her experience voicing Jess, saying “Jessica is… she’s a whole lot of personality. She is definitely the sort of mean girl character that at school she knows she’s pretty.

She knows that boys like her and she’s going to use that to her advantage.”

Brett Dalton as Michael "Mike" Munroe

Actor Brett Dalton voices lady-killer Mike and is best known for his role in Marvel’s ‘Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ series. The Until Dawn voice actor has also featured in ‘The Equalizer’.

Good looking and persuasive, we learn that Mike played a large role in the prank that led to the deaths of two members of the group a year prior. He’s your stereotypical jock with a narcissistic streak and enjoys being the go-getter.

“Mike is like ‘big guy on campus,” explains Brett.

“He’s the class president who has some charm and has brain. I don’t know, people seem to like Mike. He gets away with a lot though.

He can be kind of jerky.”

Galadriel Stineman as Ashley "Ash" Brown

This smart cookie is voiced by actress Galadriel Stineman, known for her role in the 2000s ‘Ben 10’ movies and romance ‘From the Heart’.

After last year’s events, Hannah is uncomfortable returning to the ski lodge but is eager to be in the company of her friends again. Ashley’s actions throughout the game are often motivated by her unvoiced crush on character Chris.

Paranoid, skittish, and not a fan of horror, Ashley isn’t as quick on her feet as some of the other characters such as Mike or Emily.

Galadriel Stineman explains “She’s a little more serious than some of the other girls. She’s definitely very intelligent and thoughtful, she kind of looks at the whole big picture of things.

She’s not quite as geeky as Chris but they connect in a lot of ways.”

Noah Fleiss as Christopher "Chris" Hartley

Tech-savvy Chris is voiced by actor Noah Fleiss, who can be found in 1999 movie ‘Joe the King’.

Loyal, extremely analytical, and a bit of a scaredy cat, Chris is closest with Ashley within the group, whom he also has a crush on – unbeknownst to Ashley. He has a passion for dad jokes and is keen to prove himself to his friends through his shooting skills or the latest cutting-edge technology that he’s gained.

Noah Fleiss further explains “Chris is what society might consider the nerd of the group and he kind of embraces it.”

By the end of the game, it’s clear that Chris has impressive analytical skills as he finds the most clues out of all other players.

Jordan Fisher as Matthew "Matt" Taylor

This star line-backer is voiced by actor Jordan Fisher, who’s most notable roles include Disney’s ‘Teen Beach Movie’ and Netflix’s ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’.

Not the sharpest tool in the box, Matt is seen as the ‘friendly giant’ of the group. He is dating Emily and is fiercely loyal to her, which she often uses to her advantage. He is described as cowardly and a pushover.

Jordan Fisher describes “He’s got a big heart, and you can tell that’s very evident, especially how he treats his girlfriend, Emily.

He’s kind of a meat head, but in the best way possible. He wants everyone to be happy, he’s a people pleaser and I can definitely attest to being that guy.

I’m always the friend that wants everybody to be happy, and wants everybody to be taken care of, and that’s definitely Matt.”

Rami Malek as Joshua "Josh" Washington

Party-animal Josh is voiced by Rami Malek, who is well-known for his roles in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and recent award-winner ‘Oppenheimer’.

After the death of his sisters at the lodge the previous year, Josh has struggled to come to terms with their disappearance. His family would often visit the ski lodge in Winter and Summer but as he grew older, his dad stopped spending time with them all.

Slightly older than the rest of the group, Josh plays the role of an older brother within the group – particularly to Chris. He cares deeply for everyone at the lodge and wants everyone to relax and have fun.

Rami Malek says “We know he definitely can be depressed at some times, and a bit of a loner, but he takes some solace in one of his sister’s friends, Sam.

He invites everybody back to the same house the next year to kind of find some closure.”
