Resident Evil 4 Remake Voice Actors

Revisit the story that defined Capcom's classic; discover the voice actors that brought the legendary Resident Evil characters to life.

The most highly-anticipated remake of the year and a thrill from start to finish, Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 is back to reinvent action horror games… Again.

Compared to the 2005 original game, which set the bar for third-person shooting and popularized the over-the-shoulder camera system in horror games, the new survival horror adventure is rebuilt to accommodate modern consoles, combining new mechanics and the same core story that granted the title its initial success.

Leon Kennedy is back on duty, this time on a mission to save the President’s daughter from a terrorist cult. But as Leon comes face to face with the Las Plagas virus that has overtaken a mountainous Spanish village, he discovers that something far more sinister is brewing there…

Brave enough to enter the nightmare? Check out the characters of Resident Evil 4 Remake and the voice actors that made them so special.

Leon S. Kennedy (Nick Apostolides)

  • Leon S. Kennedy
  • Racoon City

Snarky, smart-looking, and known for his iconic lines and mad combat kills, Leon Scott Kennedy’s debut in the franchise with Resident Evil 2 goes back to 1998. Since then, his flawless style and calm demeanour – even during the craziest situations – have made him a fan favourite main protagonist, alongside Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

Leon is a survivor of the Raccoon City Destruction Incident, who started as a rookie police officer with a strong sense of justice. A rookie no more, Leon’s mission in the Resident Evil 4 remake is to rescue the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham, from Los Illuminados, a cult controlling people through a parasite to commit atrocious acts.

Leon’s mission will take him across a variety of locations, from being trapped in an overrun village to quarries and castles. The Resident Evil 4 Remake recreates the classic feel, with a modern twist. While the cheesiness is toned down in the remake, there are some legendary quips in there still.

The voice actor behind Leon is Nick Apostolides, who also voiced Leon in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. Nick specialises in Motion Capture and is the voice behind iconic characters, including Conrad Roth in the Tomb Raider reboot. In the Resident Evil 4 remake, the voice actor brings a new take on a beloved stoic hero with a serious body count.

Ashley Graham (Genevieve Buechner)

Ashley Graham (Genevieve Buechner)

  • Ashley Graham
  • The President's daughter

Ashley Graham is the daughter of the President of the United States and your main rescue objective in the Resident Evil 4 remake. Los Illuminados are using her as the key to their ambitious deranged master plan to infect government executives with the Las Plagas virus.

Aside from her much-discussed outfit choices, Ashley’s character has undergone quite a few changes since the original. In the Resident Evil 4 remake, her character is more mature, while her attitude is more realistic. Although Leon still has to keep her safe while navigating the game, he can now signal for her to keep her distance during combat and even overcome co-op barriers.

Ashley’s character development in the game is nothing short of impressive, as she helps Leon stop the cult’s leader, Osmund Saddler, by transitioning from a frightened damsel in distress to a resourceful and confident ally.

In the Resident Evil 4 remake, the voice actor behind Ashley Graham is Genevieve Buechner, a Canadian actress known for popular television appearances in the 100, the X files, Supernatural, and more. Although the Resident Evil 4 remake marks her debut in video game voice acting, Genevieve captures Ashley’s naïve and impressionable character by adding an impressive level of versatility and emotional depth.

Luis Sera (Andre Pena)

  • Luis Sera
  • Biologist

Your enigmatic ally in the game, Luis Sera Navarro is a bright scientist with a dark side. At first glance, Luis comes off as laid-back with a devil-may-care attitude, but you want to keep your guard up around him.

In the Resident Evil 4 remake, he will assist you in key game points, including Leon’s fights against certain bosses, but his true intentions remain unclear. Although he may not look the part, Luis is a researcher and biologist, previously employed by Umbrella Pharmaceuticals. He worked for the prophet of Los Illuminados, Osmund Saddler, unaware of his bioweapons and international terrorism plans.

After Luis realizes Saddler’s true intentions, he tries to escape and meets Leon. He will help him search for Ashley and investigate the virus plaguing the village. While he’s also skilled with a pistol, his intelligence, wit, and loyalty to Leon are Luis’ best qualities.

In Resident Evil 4 Remake, the smooth-talking Luis Sera is played by voice actor Andre Pena, who makes his debut in the gaming industry with this role even though he has made appearances in several short films, including Shame, Mob Kingdom, The Specials, and Not Here, But Now.

Ada Wong (Lily Gao)

Ada Wong (Lily Gao)

  • Ada Wong
  • Corporate spy

Few characters share a more complicated relationship with Leon than the spymaster Ada Wong.

Ada Wong started her journey in the game series in Resident Evil 2 as a supporting character before becoming a playable option in the original Resident Evil 4. Although she and Leon were romantically involved, and she has often risked her life to protect him – even defying her superior’s orders to execute him – Ada often uses Leon to serve her own agenda.

Her intelligence, show-stopping entrances and distinct appearance prove that Ada embodies the classic role of femme fatale; we never know where her loyalties lie. Her calm and collected voice – sometimes alluring and sassy, always charming and captivating – is one of the many features that have turned the ambiguous agent into one of the most popular characters in the franchise.

Lily Gao, who previously voiced Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City will be returning to reprise her role as the voice actor for Ada in the Resident Evil 4 remake.

Osmund Saddler (Christopher Jane)

Osmund Saddler (Christopher Jane)
Osmund Saddler (Christopher Jane)
  • Osmund Saddler
  • Spanish cult leader

The main antagonist in the Resident Evil 4 remake is Lord Osmund Saddler: the leader of the Spanish cult wreaking havoc in the village. Saddler controls the La Plagas parasite that allows him to manipulate the cult followers’ minds, turning them into violent, blood-thirsty beasts.

Saddler is a strong and cunning leader, always one step ahead of the game’s protagonist, Leon. Possessed by mad ambition, the cult’s leader has kidnapped Ashley Graham to further his mission of spreading the La Plagas parasite and achieving world domination.

If his influence and manipulative skills were not proof enough that Saddler is a compelling enemy in the Resident Evil 4 remake, the character possesses supernatural strength and endurance and a classic ‘villain’ intensity in his voice.

Saddler is voiced by Christopher Jane in the Resident Evil 4 remake. He is known for his work in Much Ado!, Kung Fu, and Rise of the Bat.

Bitores Mendez (Jon Bryant)

Bitores Mendez (Jon Bryant)

  • Bitores Mendez
  • Notorious village chief

Bitores Mendez is the virus-infected village chief spreading terror in the hearts of the villagers and posing another challenge for Leon. His imposing stature and merciless nature make him one of the most feared figures in the game – second only to the primary antagonist, Osmund Saddler.

Mendez wields a large brutal axe and is an incredibly skilled fighter and tactician, able to outwit and overpower his opponents. Like Osmund, Mendez also possesses superhuman strength and endurance, able to withstand numerous gunshot wounds. Nothing stops this priest!

The voice actor behind Bitores Mendez in the Resident Evil 4 remake is the accomplished singer and songwriter Jon Bryant. Bryant has made several appearances in movies and series, including Arrow, and Riverdale. He has previously voiced the Marvel Superhero character Silver Surfer in The Sentinel of the Spaceways. His performance as Bitores Mendez in the Resident Evil 4 remake is one that fans will be looking out for.

Merchant (Micheal Adamthwaite)

Merchant (Micheal Adamthwaite)
Merchant (Micheal Adamthwaite)
  • Merchant
  • Merchant

A mysterious peddler that buys, sells, and upgrades player weapons in the Resident Evil 4 remake, the Merchant is much more than a mere vendor. He offers unique and powerful weapons that you will not find elsewhere in the game, making him an essential asset to Leon’s mission.

He is known for his distinctive hooded cloak and masked appearance. Unlike any other character in the game, he speaks cryptically, revealing some hints or clues about the upcoming challenges.

His catchy catchphrase “What’re ya buyin’?” delivered with a gravelly timbre is sure to put a smile on the face of any old fan of the game, and it will become one of the most comforting lines new players will get to experience as they fight for survival.

Micheal Adamthwaite, the voice actor behind the enigmatic merchant in the Resident Evil 4 remake, has had a long career as a writer, teacher, voice-over artist, and filmmaker with over a hundred TV and film credits. Michael’s voice is known for his distinct range of tones and expressions, which makes him a perfect match for the character of the Merchant.

Ingrid Hunnigan (Raylene Harewood)

Ingrid Hunnigan (Raylene Harewood)
Ingrid Hunnigan (Raylene Harewood)
  • Ingrid Hunnigan
  • Communication specialist

Ingrid Hunnigan is a communications specialist assisting Leon’s mission in the Resident Evil 4 remake. She provides radio support to Leon as slashes and shoots his way out of the tight siege of the Los Illuminados cult.

As the main point of contact for Leon, Ingrid uses her computer skills to hack computer systems and provide helpful information on enemy forces. She is often the voice of reason for Leon with her calm and professional demeanour. Although not a combatant in this survival horror game, her character uses her unique skills and intelligence to help the player overcome challenges.

As a bonus, in the Resident Evil 4 remake, your conversations with agent Hunnigan will also occur in real time, giving their communication a sense of directness we were previously missing. Igrid’s voice throughout the game remains professional but pleasant, keeping Leon focused and most likely even sane throughout the toughest times.

Raylene Harewood voices Ingrid in the Resident Evil 4 Remake – an actress known for her TV roles in Chesapeake Shores, A Picture-Perfect Wedding, the Charmed remake, and more. Her previous video game titles involve Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Jack Krauser (Mike Kovac)

Jack Krauser (Mike Kovac)
Jack Krauser (Mike Kovac)
  • Jack Krauser
  • Mercenary

We first meet Jack Krauser in the original Resident Evil 4 and later in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. As first impressions matter, Jack’s massive build and distinct raspy voice definitely made him a character to remember.

Jack Krauser was initially a member of the US Special Forces, where he served alongside Leon, but he later turned to working as a mercenary to satisfy his strong desire for warfare. And that’s where Krauser’s story gets tricky…

Jack Krauser is a skilled marksman and efficient fighter with a mutant arm that gives him enhanced strength and agility. He is skilled with a knife and an excellent archer. He is a complex character with a troubled past, who has worked as a double agent for the US government and Saddler.

Mike Kovac is the voice actor bringing Jack Krauser back in the Resident Evil 4 remake. The Canadian actor and producer is known for his television roles as Jackson on Supernatural and Rabe on The CW series The 100.

Ramôn Salazar (Marcio Moreno)

Ramôn Salazar (Marcio Moreno)
Ramôn Salazar (Marcio Moreno)
  • Ramôn Salazar
  • European village ruler

Ramôn Salazar is the notorious Castellan of the Salazar family in the village and another major antagonist in the Resident Evil 4 remake. He is obsessed with ancient history and artefacts. His grey hair and wrinkled face give Ramôn the appearance of an elderly man, but you may be as shocked as Leon to find out he is actually a twenty-year-old with a creepy voice.

Salazar is portrayed as a manipulative leader, using his cunning personality to control and intimidate the villagers under his rule. He possesses a vast knowledge of the history of his castle, which he utilizes as an advantage over his enemies to trap and defeat them. Salazar is aided by his servant, Verdugo, a mighty creature that he’s trained to guard him and carry out his bidding.

He is voiced by Marcio Moreno, a Spanish actor best known from the 2017 Van Helsing series and his recent role as Huevo in the 2023 film Sophie’s Rules. The voice actor’s delivery brings nuance to the eccentric Ramôn Salazar with a performance that captures his bizarre – and often unnerving – personality perfectly.

Albert Wesker (Craig Burnatowski)

Albert Wesker (Craig Burnatowski)
Albert Wesker (Craig Burnatowski)
  • Albert Wesker
  • Villain

In the original Resident Evil game, Albert Wesker was the commanding officer of the Alpha team of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS). A calculative and cold-hearted character, Wesker has maintained his antagonistic portrayal consistently throughout the game franchise.

Although he doesn’t appear in the main story in the Resident Evil 4 remake, Wesker gets notable mentions in files and documents due to his connection to the game’s primary protagonist, Osmund Saddler.

Wesker believes that humanity is weak and flawed, and he is the only one with the power to bring a better future. He also possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility due to his exposure to the T-virus.

Wesker is voiced by Craig Burnatowski in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Craig Burnatowski was a voice actor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion, and he’s starred in several movies and TV series.

President Graham (Joe Thomas)

President Graham (Joe Thomas)

  • President Graham
  • The President

Although President Graham is not a playable character in the Resident Evil 4 remake, he appears in several documents and recordings found throughout the game.

As a driven leader with a cause, he assumed the presidency of the United States, he formed the Federal Bioterrorism Commission (FBC) to protect the United States against bioterrorism.

He also helped establish an anti-Umbrella mission to track down any remnants of the Umbrella Corporation, the organisation responsible for creating bioterrorist weapons. In his second term, his daughter, Ashley Graham, was kidnapped, setting the events of the Resident Evil 4 remake in motion.

President Graham is played by Joe Thomas. The American voice actor also provided the voice for Graham in Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and King Leoric in Diablo III and Raven/Schwann in Tales of Vesperia.
